WePlate Terms of Use
October 18, 2026
About these terms
These terms apply when you use the WePlate app. WePlate is provided by Emanuele Picciolo, Via Ugo Foscolo 4, 73040 Neviano (LE), Italy.
By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
These terms do not limit any rights you have under consumer law.
Who can use WePlate
You must be at least 13 to use WePlate.
If you live in the EU or the UK and are below the age at which you can consent to online services on your own in your country, you need the consent of a parent or guardian.
If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian.
People under 18 never see calorie numbers.
Your account
An anonymous account is created when you first open the app. You can save it by adding your email. To sign in, we send you a 6-digit code by email.
If you do not save your account, you may lose access to your data if you lose your phone or delete the app.
Anonymous accounts are deleted, with all their data, if they do not set up a household within 30 days or are not used for 30 days. When you sign in with your email, the anonymous account you were using before is deleted.
Keep access to your email safe: anyone who can read it can sign in to your account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe. If you think someone else has used your account, write to [email protected].
You can delete your account at any time in Settings > Account and data.
Not medical advice
WePlate is a general wellness and meal-planning tool. It is not a medical device. It does not give medical advice, and it is not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease or condition.
Talk to a doctor before you follow a plan if you:
• are pregnant or breastfeeding;
• are under 18;
• have diabetes;
• have kidney disease;
• have or have had an eating disorder;
• have another medical condition or take medicine that affects what you can eat.
Calorie, macro and portion estimates
Calories, macros and portions are estimates. Our code calculates them from USDA FoodData Central data and the information you give. They are not calculated by AI.
Estimates can be wrong by more than 10%. Foods, brands, recipes and bodies vary.
The app applies minimum calorie floors to the targets it calculates. It does this to avoid suggesting very low intakes.
People under 18 never see calorie numbers. When calorie numbers are turned off, the app does not show them.
Allergens and food safety
Always check product labels for allergens.
Recipes, ingredient data and product information may contain errors or be out of date. Manufacturers can change their ingredients.
WePlate takes the allergies, intolerances and exclusions you enter into account, but it cannot guarantee that a meal is free of an allergen.
Prices and supermarkets
Prices in the app are estimates. Prices in stores can be different, and products may not be available.
Supermarkets shown in the app are not affiliated with WePlate and do not endorse it. Their names and brands belong to their owners.
Supermarket locations come from OpenStreetMap data and may be incomplete or wrong.
Acceptable use
When you use WePlate, do not:
• break the law;
• try to access other people’s accounts or data;
• enter another adult’s health data without their permission;
• interfere with or overload the service, or try to get around its security;
• copy, scrape or resell the app or its content, except where the law allows it;
• reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it;
• use the app to harass or harm anyone.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Before we do, we will tell you why and, where possible, give you a chance to fix the problem, unless the breach is serious, we must act at once to protect the service or other users, or the law prevents it.
Subscriptions and free trial
WePlate has no free version. All features need an active subscription or free trial.
Plans: monthly (€9.99) or yearly (€59.99). Prices may vary by country and currency. The current price is shown in the app and in the store before you buy.
Both plans start with a 7-day free trial. At the end of the trial, the price is charged to your App Store or Google Play account, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
Subscriptions are sold and billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed with RevenueCat. The store’s terms apply to payment, renewal and refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your WePlate account does not cancel the subscription.
If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you have a legal right of withdrawal for digital services, which is handled through the store’s purchase process. When you start a subscription or free trial, you ask for immediate access to the service. Your right of withdrawal applies as provided by law.
Your content and ours
You keep the rights to what you enter, such as notes and names. You allow us to store and process it only to provide the service to you and your household.
The app, its design, recipes and photos belong to Emanuele Picciolo or its licensors.
You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.
Changes to the app
We may change, add or remove features.
We cannot promise that the app will always be available or free of errors.
Ending your use
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time in Settings > Account and data.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously break these terms or if the law requires it. Unless the breach is serious or the law requires us to act at once, we will tell you first. If we close your account, we will tell you how to cancel your store subscription. If we close it for reasons that are not your fault, you keep any right to a refund that the law gives you.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or willful misconduct, or under mandatory consumer law. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
We provide WePlate with reasonable care. However, meal plans, estimates, prices and product information may be inaccurate. Always check product labels for allergens.
Subject to the above, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you started using the app.
Subject to the above, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for your subscription in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top.
If a change is important, we will tell you in the app at least 15 days before it applies.
If you do not agree with the new terms, you can stop using the app and delete your account.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Italian law.
If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
If you have a problem, please contact us first at [email protected]. We will try to solve it with you.
